The Blues look to reclaim top spot in the central division with a win at home against Roberto Luongo and the Florida Panthers.
The Panthers continue to fly under the radar in the Eastern Conference and can match the Boston Bruins for fifth spot in the Atlantic division with a victory but it'll be hard to come by against the Blues. Florida continues to hold a couple of games in hand on some teams and if they can capitalize on those they will be right in the mix in the division unless their expected regression takes them back down the ladder and into the mix for a top draft spot instead of a playoff spot. The Cats are a pretty decent team and have some stability in goal with Roberto Luongo and he will go up against long time Devils goalie and the NHL's winningest net minder of all time in Martin Brodeur who continues his come back with St. Louis.
The Blues are one of the top teams in the NHL and can retake the division lead with a win over the Panthers on Monday night and they'll look to give Brodeur a second chance after a sloppy first start back. St. Louis is very stingy defensively and can put the puck in the net but I think this will be the type of game where the Blues will want to focus on the back end more than trying to create chances and with the Panthers defense being pretty solid as well this has the feel of a trial and error, war of attrition type feel and I think we see a low scoring game. St. Louis is very tough to beat at home but the value isn't there so I think tackling the total is the best bet and the under seems the way to go.
