The Las Vegas Golden Knights look to continue their remarkable season as they head into St. Louis to battle the Blues on Thursday night.
The Knights look to build on a home ice victory over the Nashville Predators on Tuesday night as they head into St. Louis to face off against the Blues in a show down that could very well be a preview of the Western Conference final as both of these teams have been playing at a high level this season. Vegas is a ridiculous 27-9 so far this season and that is a staggering record for any team let alone a group playing in its expansion season with a group of guys deemed expendable by other teams and that have used that, and a sensational home ice advantage to propel themselves into top spot in the Pacific division and with an excellent 19-4 mark against Western Conference foes they look to be a solid road play as a dog in this spot.
The Blues meanwhile have stumbled over the last week and a half as they are 1-5 in their last six against the Western Conference and have dropped five of six against Pacific division foes and the fact they don’t have much tape to go off of against Vegas could put them in a tough place in this one. St. Louis is a well balanced roster with superstar talent up front and on the back end and they are likely to send Carter Hutton to the crease here who is coming off a win in his last outing that was highlighted by a save of the year candidate and against Marc-Andre Fleury here he is going to have to be sharp if the Blues are going to get the win.
The Knights are 20-6 in their last 26 games following a win and 8-3 in their last 11 against the Central while the Blues are 10-4 in their last 14 Thursday games and have played to the under in 11 of their last 12 at home. This game is going to be tightly contested and while the value is there for the Knights I think the better play is on the under as this one shouldn’t come close to the total.
