The Kings head into St. Louis on Tuesday night after having their seven game winning streak snapped in Chicago last night while the Blues look to push their mark to 8-2-1 on the year with a win.
The LA Kings were dealt a tough dose of reality last night as they were doubled up by the Blackhawks in Chicago last night by a 4-2 final that snapped their lofty seven game winning streak and pushed them back a bit. The Kings are still without question one of the best teams in the league and losing on the road to the defending champs on the road is nothing to scoff at but it would have been a huge step forward for them in the early stages of the season in what was an opportunity for them to make a statement. LA has another opportunity to do so tonight though as they head into St. Louis to battle the Blues who have really turned things up of late and sit in second place in the Western Conference with 17 points. Jhonas Enroth will likely get the call as he will go up against Jake Allen.
The Blues are looking very impressive once again to start the season and trail lonely the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference standings at the moment and can overtake them with a win here against LA. St. Louis is dealing with some injuries at the moment as both Jaden Schwartz and Paul Stastny are out of the lineup but they have a ton of depth up front and one of the best blue lines in hockey and a goaltender right now who is standing on his head after a sluggish start. The Kings are a good team and can certainly rebound after a tough loss but against another Western contender on the road I think they falter once again as the Blues get the victory.
