The Kings and Blues battle in a heavyweight tilt in St. Louis on Tuesday night in a show down of two of the best teams in the Western Conference.
The Kings head into St. Louis on Tuesday looking to re-establish themselves as a Stanley Cup contender once again and a victory on the road against the Blues would go a long way in doing so. The Kings have struggled away from home so far this season and are coming off yet another road loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs but they need to stay focused on the task at hand as St. Louis is a very good team that would love nothing more than to lay a beat down on the defending champs. Jonathan Quick is likely to get the call between the pipes for the Kings while Martin Jones will look on but another Martin in the form of future hall of famer Martin Brodeur will be in the crease across the ice.
The Blues head into Tuesday's action with a great chance of moving ahead of the Blackhawks for the Central division lead as they sit just a single point back and with a four game win streak currently intact the Blues are favoured to come away with their fifth. St. Louis is another year along in their youth movement and their team is loaded with talent from top to bottom and defensively they should have no trouble going toe to toe with the Kings who have slown down a bit since their ridiculous run to the Cup finals a year ago. While I am inclined to lean the way of the Kings here due to their experience in big games and the fact that it is Brodeur in net and not Jake Allen I think the Blues will take advantage of the Kings' thinning blue line and while I am not completely sold on this game I think it is a good spot for St. Louis to escape with a narrow victory.
