NHL Sunday action brings us the Minnesota Wild visiting the St. Louis Blues.

The Minnesota Wild have been winning for weeks and that trend continued in a 5-1 victory at Anaheim on Friday. The struggling Ducks received a second period power play goal from Pontus Aberg while John Gibson gave up five goals on 43 shots.

Mikael Granlund scored twice for the Wild with Jordan Greenway, Jason Zucker and Jonas Brodin also finding the scoring column. Jason Zucker and Jared Spurgeon each posted a pair of assists and Alex Stalock stopped 20 shots to get the win for Minnesota.

The St. Louis Blues have been at the top of their game with wins in four of five after downing San Jose 4-0 on Friday. The Sharks did total 33 shots but ran in to a hot goalie with Aaron Dell giving up four goals on 31 shots.

The balanced Blues offense saw scoring from Alex Pietrangelo, Ryan O’Reilly, Jaden Schwartz and Alexander Steen. Tyler Bozak added two helpers and Chad Johnson brushed aside 33 shots to pick up the win for St. Louis.

Wild are 4-0 in their last 4 in the third game of a 3-in-4 situation and the over is 4-0 in Wild last 4 games following a win and the Wild are 4-0 in their last 4 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game. Over is 6-0-1 in Blues last 7 vs. Central and over is 5-0 in Blues last 5 games playing on 1 days rest and over is 6-1 in Blues last 7 games following a win. Wild are 4-0 in the last 4 meetings and over is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings.

There has been plenty of goals scored when these teams take the ice which I’m hoping doesn’t end…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
