NHL | Minnesota Wild (7-3-2) at St. Louis Blues (4-4-3)
Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

Saturday NHL brings us a matchup between the St. Louis Blues and the visiting Minnesota Wild.

The Minnesota Wild have been red hot and stayed that way with a 4-3 win at Edmonton on Tuesday for their 6th win in seven contests. Leon Draisaitl, Connor McDavid and Alex Chiasson scored for the Oilers with Cam Talbot giving up four goals on 28 shots to get the loss.

Zach Parise, Eric Staal and Mikael Granlund each scored power play goals for the Wild with Jared Spurgeon joining the scoring column. Nino Niederreiter, Ryan Sutter and Staal each added a pair of helpers while Alex Stalock picked up the win for Minnesota with 34 saves.

The St. Louis Blues look to extend their winning streak to three games following a 5-3 win against visiting Vegas on Thursday. The Golden Knights received goals from Pierre-Edouard Bellemare, Erik Haula and Alex Tuch with Marc-Andre Fleury getting the loss with five goals allowed on 26 shots.

Oskar Sundqvist led the Blues offense with two goals with Vladimir Tarasenko, Colton Parayko and Tyler Bozak joining the scoring column. Jake Allen got the win for St. Louis with three goals given up on 34 shots.

Wild are 6-1 in their last 7 overall and Wild are 5-1 in their last 6 vs. a team with a losing record and under is 5-1-1 in Wild last 7 vs. Central. Over is 5-0-1 in Blues last 6 vs. Central and over is 4-0 in Blues last 4 overall and over is 4-0 in Blues last 4 games playing on 1 days rest. Over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings and Wild are 2-5 in the last 7 meetings in St. Louis.

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
