St. Louis Blues -110; O/U: 5.5
The St. Louis Blues look to win their 5th game in a row as they host the Nashville Predators in a Central division show down on Saturday.
The Predators look to continue their recent success against the Blues when the two division rivals meet up in St. Louis on Saturday, and with a victory the Preds would claim their 7th win in 8 tries against St. Louis. Nashville has won 4 games in a row as a road underdog and before the last couple of weeks this would have been a lopsided line in favor of the Predators but thanks to St. Louis’ recent surge they are right back in the mix as a playoff contender in the Western Conference and are looking like a group many expected to see in the preseason. Nashville though is 5-1 in their last 6 games and are 6-2 in their last 8 games on the road and will hold the edge in the crease with Pekka Rinne expected to get the start.
The Blues meanwhile have won 4 in a row and are 5-2 in their last 7 games following a win and are coming off a shutout victory on the road against the Tampa Bay Lightning which is certainly one to star on their resume. The Blues have a pretty solid crew of forwards and always have a great blue line but this season things have been a little bit different as they started the season off as one of the league’s doormats and have had to rely on a second half surge to get back in the playoff discussion. St. Louis is a slight home favorite in this spot which is good news for them as the favorite is 55-27 in the last 82 meetings between these two teams and the home side is 20-6 in their last 26 show downs.
The Preds are 4-1 in their last 5 against teams from the Western Conference and are 7-2 in their last 9 playing on 1 days rest while the Blues are 19-9 in their last 28 as a slight favorite and 1-6 in their last 7 against the Preds. This should be a very good game between two solid rosters and while the price on a red hot Blues side is tempting the value is on the road team and Nashville gets it done.
