The Line: St. Louis Blues -190 / New York Rangers +171 --- Over/Under: 5.5
The St. Louis Blues welcome the New York Rangers to the Scottrade Center for a Friday NHL tilt.
The New York Rangers haven’t done a ton of winning but the team is shooting for a three game winning streak following a 4-3 OT victory versus Pittsburgh. The Penguins received scoring from Bryan Rust, Riley Sheahan and Carl Hagelin and Casey DeSmith allowed four goals on 33 shots.
Mika Zibanejad topped the Rangers attack with a third period goal and the winner in the extra session while Jesper Fast and Chris Kreider also found the back of the net. Neal Pionk posted two assists and Chris Kreider added three helpers to make a winner of Alexander Georgiev and his 40 saves.
The St. Louis Blues have been struggling for weeks to piece together some wins but neither end of the ice is cooperating. St. Louis saw an opportunity at a three game winning streak end in a 4-1 defeat to Colorado where Joel Edmundson scored and Jake Allen allowed three goals on 22 shots.
The Avalanche saw Nathan MacKinnon score twice in the first period while Mikko Rantanen scored in the second and third. MacKinnon added three assists and Gabriel Landeskog posted two assists to lift Semyon Varlamov to the win with 44 saves.
Under is 5-0 in Rangers last 5 vs. Central and over is 4-0 in Rangers last 4 overall and Rangers are 1-9 in their last 10 vs. Central. Under is 8-0 in Blues last 8 vs. Eastern Conference and Blues are 1-7 in their last 8 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game and Blues are 1-4 in their last 5 home games. Under is 3-0-1 in the last 4 meetings and under is 3-1-4 in the last 8 meetings in St. Louis.
This is a tough one to find an edge. St. Louis is the better team but can’t get going which has me on the sideline…
