The San Jose Sharks are gunning for their third straight win after downing Minnesota 4-3 on Wednesday. Minnesota received goals from Zach Parise, Jared Spurgeon and Matt Dumba. Mikko Koivu added two assists and Devan Dubnyk took the loss for the Wild with four goals allowed on 22 shots.
The balanced San Jose offense saw scoring from Marcus Sorensen, Joe Thornton, Antti Suomela and Barclay Goodrow. Sorensen and Brent Burns logged a pair of helpers while Martin Jones won it for the Sharks with 23 stops.
The St. Louis Blues have been playing well with wins in three of four after upending visiting Carolina 4-1 on Wednesday. The Hurricanes only goal came off the stick of Jaccob Slavin on a first period power play. Curtis McElhinney absorbed the loss for Carolina with three goals given up on 19 shots.
Ryan O’Reilly topped the Blues offense with a pair of first period goals and an empty netter to complete the hat trick. Bobby Fabbri also tallied in the first while Vladimir Tarasenko and Tyler Bozak logged two assists to lift the Blues and the 38 saves of Chad Johnson to the win.
