The Blues and Sharks meet up in St. Louis on Monday as both teams look to improve their standing in the Western Conference playoff chase.
The San Jose Sharks head into St. Louis on Monday night looking to shake off a loss on Saturday against the Carolina Hurricanes in Raleigh and things don’t get any easier for them as the Blues are in a tight battle for home ice in the Central. San Jose continues to be a tough team to figure out as they look like Cup contenders one night and a junior team on others and while they have been able to get away with it in the underwhelming Pacific division they face a tough task here against one of the league’s top teams. The Sharks are 31-21-5 this season and are three points back of the Ducks for second in the division but are still in the clear holding onto third place and are seven points clear of the Coyotes. Martin Jones is expected to get the start as he will face off against Brian Elliott.
The Blues have quietly put together another really strong regular season and thanks to teams like Washington and Chicago they have gone relatively unnoticed but are 35-17-9 and are a very strong contender in the Western Conference. St. Louis was considered an after thought to win the division in November thanks to some injuries and a slow start but they have since turned things up and could very well steal the Central division crown away from the Dallas Stars and Chicago Blackhawks. This is a very good team that matches up well with most opponents and the Sharks are no different and with the odds we are getting here with the Blues as a slight home favourite we are all over it.
