The Tampa Bay Lightning hit the road for a matchup with the St. Louis Blues.  The Lightning are (9-6-2) this year, coming off a 4-3 loss to the Winnipeg Jets.  The Blues are (12-4-5) thus far, having just lost at home to the Anaheim Ducks 4-1.

In the Tampa Bay loss, the Lightning had goals from Victor Hedman, Steven Stamkos, and Anthony Cirelli.  Tampa Bay trailed 3-1 going into the 3rd period.  The Lightning despite losing, out shot the Jets 34 to 27.  Tampa Bay also out hit Winnipeg 30 to 13.  Tampa Bay goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy had 23 saves on 26 shots on goal and took the loss, dropping his record to 7-5.

The Blues have hit somewhat of a rough patch here in the last few games.  While the Blues have gained a point in 2 of their last 3 games, the have not had a game where they have received 2 points since November 9th.  In the loss to the Ducks, the loan Blues goal came from Vince Dunn.  The Blues out shot the Ducks 38 to 25 and also out hit the Ducks, 29 to 19.  Jordan Binnington finished the game with 21 saves on 24 shots.

Recent Betting Trends:

Lightning are 0-5 in their last 5 vs the Central.

The over is 5-1 in Lightning last 6 overall.

Blues are 21-7 in their last 28 games as an underdog.

The under is 4-0 in Blues last 4 overall.

The Blues typically have a sell out, this game will be no different, except the fans will be cheering for one of the opposing players at times.  Pat Maroon returns back to his hometown, only this time as a Tampa Bay Lightning. The Blues have still been playing some of the best hockey in the league, point wise.  The Blues have collected at least a point in 9 of their last 10 games.  The Blues have already had 10 games this year, that have either went to overtime or it went to a shootout.  The Lightning saw their 3 game win streak come to an end, in the loss to the Jets.  The Blues and their opponent have been consistently been getting averaging 5 goals per game.  The Lightning and their opponent have had 7 or more goals in 5 of their last 6 games.  I'm going to take the over here, as the Blues offense and with the Lightning high powered offense will be able to push this total over.  Final score prediction, Blues win 4-3
