The Blues look to make a push towards the Central division crown when they host the Jets in St. Louis on Tuesday night.
The Winnipeg Jets have points in seven of their last 10 contests and are on a roll heading into St. Louis on Tuesday night and with a victory they can pull to within four points of the Blackhawks for third in the division and leapfrog the Wild for the rights to the top wild card seed. The Jets are a well baalnced group that made some noise at the trade deadline and they are hoping to not only bring playoff hockey back to Winnipeg for the first time since relocating from Atlanta but they have their sights set on doing some damage while they're there and perhaps go on a deep Cup run. Ondrej Pavelec will get the call in this one as he will go up against Brian Elliott.
The Blues continue to be one of the best teams in hockey and thanks in large part to an ill advised cold streak from the Nashville Predators the Blues are in a position to take over the top spot in the Central division. St. Louis is as deep as any team in the NHL and are coming off an absolute thrashing of the Toronto Maple Leafs over the weekend and with seventeen games remaining on the schedule the Blues would like to keep their momentum moving forward and get prepared for what should be a lengthy playoff run. This is a spot where I think the Jets come to play and St. Louis will be caught off guard a bit and I certainly don't like the price here as the Jets are a playoff team as well and are in a more desperate place than the home side. The better spot is on the total here and even though I am not a huge fan of Ondrej Pavelec I think he shows up tonight and this one stays under the number.
