The Winnipeg Jets clash with the St. Louis Blues in a Tuesday night NHL hockey bout.

The Winnipeg Jets are not going to the postseason but they are playing hard and playing well with the end of the regular season a week away. The Jets are playing their best hockey and have won four straight for the first time this year after knocking off the visiting Ottawa Senators 4-2 on Saturday. The balanced Jets attack featured goals from Adam Lowry, Blake Wheeler, Mathieu Perreault and Nikolaj Ehlers on the empty net. Bryan Little and Jacob Trouba logged a pair of helpers and Connor Hellebuyck picked up the win for the suddenly surging Jets. Mike Hoffman scored both goals for the Senators with Mike Condon making 24 saves in the defeat as the Sens dropped number four in a row. Ottawa is now in danger of falling from second in the Atlantic Division.

The St. Louis Blues have secured a spot in the postseason and while many teams let up on the gas with nothing to play for the Blues are not one of those teams. The Blues played their normal stingy selves with some timely scoring to upend the visiting Nashville Predators 4-1 on Sunday to rack up their 7th victory in nine contests. The balanced Blues offense saw scoring from Alexander Steen, Vladimir Tarasenko and Joel Edmundson with David Perron scoring and logging a pair of assists. Jake Allen picked up the victory with an impressive 35 stops as St. Louis bounced back from a surprising loss at Colorado. Ryan Johansen scored the lone goal for the Predators and Juuse Saros stopped 21 shots and still need a point or Los Angeles Kings loss to get into the playoffs.

The over is 4-0 in Jets last 4 games following a win and the Jets are 4-0 in their last 4 overall while the over is 12-1 in Jets last 13 vs. Central. The under is 2-0-2 in Blues last 4 home games and the under is 3-0-2 in Blues last 5 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game while the under is 3-0-1 in Blues last 4 games following a win. The Jets are 5-0 in the last 5 meetings and the  Jets are 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in St. Louis while the under is 3-1-1 in the last 5 meetings in St. Louis.

Winnipeg has done very well in this match up and the under has been the total to bet but for now I’ll lean St. Louis with goalies pending…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
