Winnipeg Jets (41-26-12) at St. Louis Blues (49-23-7)
|Date & Time||Tuesday April 7, 2015, 8:00 PM (EDT)|
The Line: St. Louis Blues -190 / Winnipeg Jets +171 --- Over/Under: 5
The Jets look for their third win in a row and second in as many nights as they travel from Minnesota to St. Louis to do battle with the Central leading Blues.
The Jets are fighting desperately to end their playoff futility streak and a eroad win against a team like Minnesota is a huge momentum booster heading into their final three games of the regular season and at the moment they sit in the second wild card spot in the Western Conference. Winnipeg historically is a much better team at home than they are on the road but they have done considerably well away from the MTS Centre this season with a 19-13-7 mark but face a tough task tonight against a Blues team looking for top spot in the Conference. Mike Hutchinson is slated to get the start after Ondrej Pavelec recorded the shutout last night but don't be surprised if the Jets ride the hot hand in this one and go right back with him.
The Blues have been among the league's best all season long but they are actually playing among their worst stretches of the year at the moment despite going 5-3-2 in their last 10 overall but that can all be forgotten with a division title and possibly a President's Trophy. St. Louis sits two points back of the Ducks for the Conference lead but do have a game in hand and while that recognition would be nice I think St. Louis would much rather claim top spot in the division and avoid playing the Blackhawks in the first round. The Blues need this win but the Jets need it more and as a fan I am incredibly excited to watch this game as both teams are solid and want to head into the playoffs on a high note. However, the Blues have a little bit more talent top to bottom and I think they get a Jets team coming off a game very few gave them a chance to win and I think the wind in their sails will be out in this one.
