The Bolts look to even the series and head back to Tampa Bay with some momentum while the Wings can go up 3-1 and get a chance to put the series on ice.
The Tampa Bay Lightning looked as ordinary as they have all season long in game three's loss on the road as they were blanked 3-0 by Petr Mrazek and the Red Wings in front of a loud group at Joe Louis Arena. The Bolts were the NHL's best offense coming into the playoffs and so much was made about the team's depth up front but they picked a tough time to go cold and they'll have to find a way to regain their swagger if they're going to even things up. Steven Stamkos accepted most of the responsibility for his team's lackluster effort and as a leader on this team and one of the best players in the game you can bet he will shoulder the responsibility on the ice to get his team back in it. Ben Bishop will continue to man the crease at the other end for Tampa Bay.
The Red Wings have already taken two games in this series which is more than what I gave them credit for coming into the playoffs and now they have a great chance at pushing the Lightning to the brink of elimination in what should be another exciting affair. The Wings have a ton of playoff experience but it has been their role players making the difference as Mrazek, Riley Sheahan, Tomas Tatar and the like have been the names stealing headlines and who knows what Red Wings player will step up and be a star for his team in this one. The Wings always play well at home especially against the Bolts but I have to stick with my gut here as Tampa is still the better team and when you have a dangerous goal scorer like Stamkos vowing for a better effort I will take his word for it.
