The Lightning look to even the series up at a game apiece while the Rangers can sweep the first two at MSG and head to Tampa up 2-0.
The Tampa Bay Lightning were in a great position to steal home ice advantage in game one as they were on the man advantage in the late stages of a tie hockey game and not only could they not pull the trigger on the game winning goal but they conceded just seconds after Dominic Moore came out of the box and it was he who was the lucky recipient of a bouncing puck. The Bolts played quite well in the latter stages of the game and Ben Bishop was exceptional once again but if Tampa is going to jump back into this series they need to find a way to solve Henrik Lundqvist in the early going and generate more scoring chances in the first period.
The Rangers meanwhile owe another victory to their goaltender as King Henrik was solid once again and if New York can be even a smidge better in game two than they should be in good shape as frankly they didn't play well enough to win game one and yet they have a 1-0 series lead. New York had a ton of energy in the first period and while it was a tally in the late going that sealed the win they demonstrated early on that Tampa wasn't going to be dictating the pace and if they can keep that mentality and succeed with it they should head to Tampa up two games. While I think Tampa has a great shot to win this series they are going to have to do it starting at home as I like New York to win here and force Tampa to start playing desperate hockey back in Florida.
