The Panthers look to build on their 4-1 win over the Bruins their last time out as they face off against the Lightning on Saturday night.
The Florida Panthers look to retake top spot in the Atlantic division with a victory against their in-state rivals on Saturday as they head into Tampa Bay to face off against the Lightning. Florida has yet to clinch a playoff spot but are inching closer with each passing game and if they can leave Tampa with a victory it would send a message to the rest of the Eastern Conference that they are for real and should be considered a threat to emerge victorious as Atlantic division winners. Roberto Luongo is expected to make the start in goal as he will likely ace off against Andrei Vasilevskiy for the Lightning.
The Lightning are coming off a big time win at home last night as they skated to a 7-4 victory over the New York Islanders in a back and forth affair that was obviously littered with scoring and now they can make it four in a row with a statement win against the Panthers. Tampa Bay sits in first place in the Atlantic for the time being as the hold the tiebreaker on the Panthers with more victories but these two teams are very evenly matched and will take a full 60 minutes to decide the winner. However, with Tampa playing in a goals fest last night I think this one will be a little lower scoring and as such I like the better defensive team to get the win which in this case is the Panthers.
