NHL action comes to Amalie Arena where the Tampa Bay Lightning host the Nashville Predators on Sunday.

The Nashville Predators might have snuck in to the postseason a year ago but the team is closing in on the Central title and are not sneaking up on anybody. Nashville defeated San Jose 5-3 on Thursday where Logan Couture, Brenden Dillon and Mikkel Boedker scored for the Sharks and Martin Jones allowed four goals on 31 shots.

The balanced Predators saw Kyle Turris, Viktor Arvidsson, Craig Smith, Ryan Ellis and Nick Bonino all reach the scoring column. Filip Forsberg gave Nashville three assists and Juuse Saros made an impressive 39 saves to get the victory.

The Tampa Bay Lightning haven’t been themselves the past few weeks as the team tries to wrap up the Atlantic crown. Tampa Bay comes in off of a 7-3 rout of the Rangers where Brady Skjel, Filip Chytil and Chris Kreider scored for New York and Ondrej Pavelec allowed six goals on 49 shots.

Cedric Paquette and Brayden Point topped the Lightning with a pair of goals each while Alex Killhorn, JT Miller and Dan Girardi joined the scoring spree. Three players gave Tampa Bay two assists each and Louis Dominigue recorded 28 sops to get the win.

Predators are 7-1 in their last 8 in the third game of a 3-in-4 situation and over is 5-1 in Predators last 6 in the third game of a 3-in-4 days situation and Predators are 9-2 in their last 11 road games. Lightning are 7-0 in their last 7 Sunday games and over is 13-3 in Lightning last 16 in the third game of a 3-in-4 days situation and Lightning are 17-4 in their last 21 vs. Central. Over is 4-0-1 in the last 5 meetings in Tampa Bay and over is 4-1-1 in the last 6 meetings and Predators are 9-3 in the last 12 meetings.

Both teams are solid in all areas although scoring has been center stage in this matchup so I’m looking at the over…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
