The Lightning look to retake top spot in the Atlantic division with a win at home on Friday as they welcome the Philadelphia Flyers to town.
The Flyers look to complete the home and home sweep against the Bolts after grabbing a 4-2 victory the last time these two teams played and with every contest meaning so much to Philly in their pursuit of a wild card spot they know they need to treat every night as a make or break. The Flyers sit just three points back of the Penguins for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference but as winners of back to back games and a 7-2-1 mark in their last 10 contests they are certainly trending upwards and should be considered a threat to land a playoff spot. However, with the Bolts in the thick of things in the Atlantic and a potential division crown on their mind the Flyers know this is going to be a tough game in front of an energized crowd.
The Lightning meanwhile look to shake off that 4-2 loss to Philadelphia at the Wells Fargo Center and retake the top spot in the Atlantic division after falling into second thanks to an off night and a road win from the Boston Bruins. Tampa does hold two games in hand on the Bruins and should be considered the favourite to win the division at this point in time but they will have to turn things up down the stretch and that starts with a rebound effort here against the Flyers. This should be a close one but I see a very similar final score as the game in Philly with the home side getting the win this time around.
