The Maple Leafs look to shake off a road loss against the Canadiens over the weekend as they return home to battle the Coyotes.
The Arizona Coyotes have certainly been the surprise team in the early going of this NHL season at least when it comeas to those who are playing above expectations as they were pegged by many to be league doormats and have stormed out of the gate for an impressive 4-3-1 record. They will look to continue their ascent with a victory on the road against the Maple Leafs who have but one victory this season which came against the lowly Columbus Blue Jackets. Arizona's success has come from the young guns as both Max Domi and Anthony Duclair are playing very well at the moment and you can bet for their first game at the ACC they will be pumped up to be playing in front of friends and family and will bring with them some extra motivation. Mike Smith will get the call as he will go up against Jonathan Bernier who has put an end to the starting goalie debate in Toronto for the time being.
The Leafs look to shake off their second loss to the Canadiens this season with a bounce back effort at home against a team that on paper they should success against but has been playing very well to start the year. Toronto is in a rebuilding phase and the fan base and brass alike are on board but it is still a disappointing place when the Leafs aren't involved in a playoff push and I feel like we will have that void for the next couple years. In the meantime though they do have some talented players and while they have a great chance to grab a win at home here I like the way this Coyotes group is playing and they grabbed a big win against the Sens on Saturday. They follow it up here with another.
