Saturday NHL features the Toronto Maple Leafs hosting a visit from the Boston Bruins.

The surging Boston Bruins saw a five game winning streak end Thursday in a 4-2 loss to visiting Washington. Ryan Donato and David Krejci supplied markers for Boston and Jaroslav Halak gave up three goals on 21 shots to get the loss.

Alex Ovechkin scored twice for Washington with Jakub Vrana and Nicklas Backstrom also finding the back of the net. TJ Oshie assisted twice and Braden Holtby stopped 39 shots to pick up the win for the Capitals.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are eyeing consecutive victories after upending New Jersey 4-2 on the road Thursday. Blake Coleman and Brian Boyle supplied second period markers for New Jersey while Keith Kinkaid gave up three goals on 42 shots to get the loss.

The Maple Leafs received a pair of goals from John Tavares with Ron Hainsey and Mitch Marner also reaching the scoring column. Tavares and Marner added helpers and Michael Hutchinson picked up the win for Toronto with 27 stops.

Bruins are 5-0 in their last 5 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game and Bruins are 6-1 in their last 7 vs. a team with a winning record and Bruins are 5-1 in their last 6 vs. Atlantic. Under is 5-0 in Maple Leafs last 5 vs. a team with a winning record and Maple Leafs are 6-1 in their last 7 vs. Eastern Conference and under is 5-1 in Maple Leafs last 6 overall. Over is 3-0-1 in the last 4 meetings and home team is 5-0 in the last 5 meetings and Bruins are 1-7 in the last 8 meetings in Toronto.

I think I’d give the Maple Leafs a look but small given the juice and their sometimes inconsistent play…

Toronto -145

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
