The Toronto Maple Leafs look to take a 3-1 strangle hold on their opening round series with the Boston Bruins as the two sides meet up in Toronto on Wednesday night.

The Bruins look to rebound after a Game 3 loss on the road at Scotiabank Arena on Monday night as their come back attempt fell just short as Toronto netted a 3-2 win and now lead 2-1 in the series overall. Boston will have to go back to the drawing board and keep their periphery offensive threats of Toronto off the score sheet and if there is any team in the Eastern Conference capable of playing a strong road game it is the Bruins who are a battled tested group that have plenty of game breaking talent. Boston is a disappointing 1-6 in their last 7 contests against division rivals and are just 2-7 in their last 9 games on Wednesday but they can ill afford to go down 3-1 in this series with the Buds and while it is too early to push the panic button this seems like a must win contest.

The Maple Leafs meanwhile outlasted the Bruins in a back and forth contest on Monday night and are looking like a serious threat in the Eastern Conference at the moment if they can knock the Bruins out. Toronto has a ton of offensive weapons but aside from a goal from Auston Matthews it has been their secondary scoring that has been the difference and if that can continue the Leafs are a serious threat to move through to Eastern Conference final. Toronto is winless in their last 7 games following a victory and are just 2-5 in their last 7 home games but they have had Boston’s number at home over the last couple of seasons and are hoping that trend carries in their favor tonight.

The B’s are 2-5 in their last 7 games as an underdog and 5-2 in their last 7 road games while the Leafs are 8-2 in their last 10 at home against Boston and are 2-4 in their last 6 overall. Boston needs to get a win here and they have done a nice job making adjustments after a tough loss. Look for Boston to regroup and send this back to the TD Garden knotted up.
