The Toronto Maple Leafs continued their torrid start to the season with an easy victory over the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night. Tyler Bozak and Trevor Smith got things started in the first period for the Maple Leafs and Mason Raymond added a pair of goals as the Leafs cruised to a 4-1 win to improve their record to 6-1-0 on the year. Raymond might have been one of the biggest steals of the offseason and he's paying dividends for Toronto already this year. James Reimer got the start in net after Jonathan Bernier was roughed up in their 6-5 win and he responded by making 36 saves on 37 shots in this one. They'll host a Carolina Hurricanes club that needs to start getting some better production from Cam Ward. The Hurricanes netminder did his best to recover after allowing two first period goals to the Chicago Blackhawks the other night. He finished the game with 34 saves and allowed his club to get back in it and even things up before they finally fell in a shootout. Thursday night is going to be a serious challenge against a Maple Leafs club that has been putting the puck in the net a whole lot to start the year.
