The Red Wings look to extend their winning streak to three games as they head into Toronto to battle the Maple Leafs and former head coach Mike Babcock.
The Wings have won back to back contests and are a game above the .500 on the season as they battle for positioning in the Atlantic division and Eastern Conference. Detroit will get their second shot of the year to get even with Babcock after he left to coach the Leafs in the off season and after getting the bets of Toronto in Detroit earlier this year they are in a good spot again here to make it back to back. Detroit will likely go with Jimmy Howard as he will match up against James Reimer. The Wings are 3-2-1 on the road so far this season while the Maple Leafs are 1-4-1 at the Air Canada Centre.
The Maple Leafs are in for a long season and many knew that coming in but it must take a lot out of their fans seeing them lose with such consistency despite getting a much needed victory against the Stars earlier this week. The Leafs are coming off a loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday in which they surrendered the game winner in the final two minutes and conceded an empty netter to finish it off dropping the game by a 4-2 final. Toronto needs a big win here but it is the Wings that are playing the better hockey and at this price I think we have to lean with the visitors who extend Toronto's futility.
