The Line: Toronto Maple Leafs -205 / Minnesota Wild +170 --- Over/Under: 6
The Minnesota Wild go on the road to face the Toronto Maple Leafs in Thursday NHL action.
The Minnesota Wild need a change in momentum after dropping six of seven after a 3-2 loss to visiting Pittsburgh on Monday. Mikko Koivu scored in the first for Minnesota while Zach Parise lit the lamp in the third. Devan Dubnyk absorbed the loss for the Wild with three goals allowed on 32 shots.
Sydney Crosby and found the back of the net in the first for Pittsburgh with Riley Sheahan netting the winner in the second. Phil Kessel logged a pair of assists and Casey DeSmith recording 31 saves to get the win for the Penguins.
The surging Toronto Maple Leafs had won five straight before cooling off for a night in a 4-0 defeat to the visiting NY Islanders on Saturday. The Maple Leafs offense stalled and Garret Sparks struggled with all four goals given up on 27 shots.
Mathew Barzal exploded for a second period hat trick while Valteri Fippula scored in the first for New York. The Islanders saw Ryan Pulock supply two helpers and Robin Lehner picked up the win with a 31 save performance.
Under is 9-1-1 in Wild last 11 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and under is 7-1 in Wild last 8 overall and Wild are 1-6 in their last 7 overall. Over is 7-0 in Maple Leafs last 7 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and over is 6-0 in Maple Leafs last 6 vs. a team with a losing record and under is 3-0-1 in Maple Leafs last 4 games playing on 3 or more days rest. Under is 5-0-1 in the last 6 meetings in Toronto and under is 11-1-1 in the last 13 meetings and Wild are 8-2 in the last 10 meetings.
Minnesota seems to find their game when facing the Maple Leafs but I’d do something on the under…
