The Predators look for their second win in as many nights as they continue their road trip in Toronto on Tuesday.
The Nashville Predators look to build on their 2-1 shootout win over the Montreal Canadiens last night as they continue their road trip in Toronto with a date against the short handed Maple Leafs. The Predators have really turned up their game since hosting the all-start break and were even on track in the few games leading up to the unofficial mid-way point of the season and now with their latest win coming against the Canadiens they sit firmly in a wild card spot in the Western Conference and could very well chase down the Blues for third in the Central. Carter Hutton could see action in this one with Rinne going last night as he is expected to face off against Jonathan Bernier.
The Maple Leafs continued their rebuild yesterday as they sent Nick Spaling and Roman Polak to the San Jose Sharks for journeyman Raffi Torres and some draft picks and they likely aren’t done with the trade deadline a week away. The Buds continue to stockpile picks for the upcoming draft and with their recent moves giving way to some AHL call ups it gives Leafs Nation their first real look at what guys like William Nylander will bring to the table. Unfortunately for the Leafs though they are going to be a door mat the rest of the way and though the Preds are in a back to back they should get the victory with or without Rinne in goal
