The New York Rangers visit the Toronto Maple Leafs in a Saturday NHL tilt.

The New York Rangers defeated the red hot Anaheim Ducks 3-1 on Tuesday for their third win in nine contests. Pontus Aberg gave Anaheim a 1-0 lead in the second period but Chad Johnson allowed two goals on 23 shots to absorb the loss.

New York received three goals in the third with Vladislav Namesnikov, Kevin Hayes and Filip Chytil each lighting the lamp. Namesnikov also added two assists for the Rangers who received 14 saves from Alexandar Georgiev.

The Toronto Maple Leafs were clicking on all cylinders in a 6-1 decision against visiting Florida on Thursday for their second straight win. Henrik Borgstrom scored on the power play in the third period for the Panthers with Roberto Luongo getting the loss with five goals allowed on 22 shots.

Auston Matthews and John Tavares each lit the lamp twice for the Maple Leafs with Nazem Kadri and Mitch Marner also reaching the scoring column. Marner assisted twice and Matthews had three more assist while Morgan Rielly totaled four helpers to lift Toronto and make a winner of Frederik Andersen and his 25 saves.

I don’t trust the big favorite Maple Leafs but I do think there will be enough offense to topple the over…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
