The Line: Toronto Maple Leafs -110 / Tampa Bay Lightning +100 --- Over/Under: 6
The Air Canada Centre and the Toronto Maple Leafs host the Tampa Bay Lightning in Monday NHL action.
The Tampa Bay Lightning sit atop the Atlantic and are showing no signs of letting up with wins in four of five following a 4-3 win versus the Los Angeles Kings. Los Angeles received goals from Johnny Brodzinski, Kyle Clifford and Christian Folin. Darcy Kuemper allowed three goals on 14 shots before Jonathan Quick came on to stop 13-14 shots.
The balanced attack of Tampa Bay featured four different players score with Steven Stamkos, Alex Kilhorn, Cedric Paquette and Nikita Kucherov each light the lamp. Stamkos also had an assist and Andrei Vasilevskiy recorded 44 saves to get the win for the Lightning.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have a lot of expectation in 2017-18 and might be finally showing why. The surging Maple Leafs have won eight of ten after disposing of the Ottawa Senators 6-3. Ottawa received goals from Johnny Oduya, Derick Brassard and Ryan Dzingel with Craig Anderson allowing three goals on ten shots before Mike Condon came on to stop 28-30.
Mitch Marner paced an explosive Maple Leafs offense with a hat trick with Auston Matthews, James van Riemsdyk and Patrick Marleau joining the scoring column. Marner also added three assists and Marleau logged a pair of helpers to lift surging Toronto and Frederik Andersen’s 22 stops to the win.
Over is 4-0 in Lightning last 4 vs. Eastern Conference and over is 5-0 in Lightning last 5 games playing on 1 days rest and Lightning are 0-4 in their last 4 when their opponent scores 5 goals or more in their previous game. Maple Leafs are 4-0 in their last 4 home games and under is 7-1-1 in Maple Leafs last 9 games following a win and Maple Leafs are 7-1 in their last 8 overall. Under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings and road team is 5-0 in the last 5 meetings and Lightning are 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Toronto.
Both teams are playing well and for now I’ll take a look at the Lightning pending goalie assignments…
