The Lightning look to take over top spot in the Atlantic division with a win in Toronto on Tuesday night less than 24 hours after sweeping the season series against the Montreal Canadiens.
The Lightning head into Toronto on Cloud Nine on Tuesday night as they went into the Bell Center and defeated the Canadiens for the fifth time this season and have not only put themselves into a position to take the division crown but have a huge edge mentally on their divisional counterparts. Tampa sits a point back of Montreal for the Atlantic lead with five games remaining for each team and the Bolts can leapfrog into first with a win over the Maple Leafs who are ocming off an overtime win against the Senators. Tampa may turn to Andrei Vasilevskiy in this one as Ben Bishop went last night and with a playoff spot already locked up they may give their starting net minder some time to relax before what they hope is a deep run in the postseason.
The Maple Leafs are coming off an emotionally charged win against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday night in what is a highlight on an otherwise disastrous season for the blue and white as they took down one of their arch rivals and dented their hopes at making the playoffs. Toronto is in the mix for a lottery pick in the 2015 Entry Draft and do hold a relatively respectable chance at landing the top overall selection but either way they are in need of a complete overhaul and that will likely take place throughout the summer and into next season. While they got a big win on Saturday I don't see them repeating it here as the Bolts have the division crown in mind and they shouldn't have any issues here reagrdless of who starts in goal.
