The Rogers Centre and the Vancouver Canucks welcome the Arizona Coyotes to town for an NHL matchup on Thursday.
The Arizona Coyotes have been out of the playoff picture for months but the team has been at their best as of late with wins in four of five after a 4-1 victory at Calgary. Nick Shore scored for the Flames and Jon Gillies allowed four goals on 21 shots.
The Coyotes saw scoring off the sticks of Richard Panik, Kevin Connauton, Christian Fletcher and Dylan Strome. Max Domi gave Arizona a pair of assists and Antti Raanta upped his record to 21-16-6 with an impressive 42 saves.
The Vancouver Canucks are similar to their counterparts in the team is playing well despite being out of the playoffs. Vancouver saw a four game winning streak end in a 5-4 SO loss to Vegas. Nikolay Goldobin scored twice for the Canucks with Bo Horvat and Brandon Sutter also lighting the lamp while Jacob Markstrom allowing four goals on 39 shots.
Brandon Pirri paced the Golden Knights attack with a pair of goals with Tomas Tater and William Karlsson also hitting the back of the net in regulation before Shea Theodore scored n the 4th round of the shootout. Three players added two helpers each for Vegas who received 21 stops from Malcolm Subban.
Arizona are 14-38 in their last 52 Thursday games and Arizona are 27-72 in their last 99 road games. Under is 8-2 in Vancouver last 10 vs. Pacific and over is 20-6 in Vancouver last 26 home games and Vancouver are 15-39 in their last 54 Thursday games. Arizona are 3-8 in the last 11 meetings in Vancouver and under is 33-16-4 in the last 53 meetings.
Despite recent hot streaks, neither team has played well overall so this game is risky business…
