The Sabres continues their road trip in Vancouver on Monday night less than 24 hours after dropping a 4-2 decision at Rexall Place in Edmonton.
The Buffalo Sabres will look to split their Western Canada trip with a victory in Vancouver on Monday night but going up against a former teammate could prove difficult as Ryan Miller face his old club on home ice. The Sabres played well at times last night but in the end they didn't have enough in the tank offensively as they were out paced by an Oilers team that is heating up at home but is still in the basement of the Western Conference. Things don't get any easier as Vancouver is coming off a tough loss at home to the Bruins and will be looking to make amends with an inspired effort here that could come from Ryan Miller who was on the bench watching his team lose to Boston on Saturday night. Chad Johnson will likely stay in the pipes again tonight as he will face off against Miller in a show down that could very well determine the outcome of this game.
The Canucks were dealt a tough blow at home on Saturday in a scene that eerily familiar to the 2011 Stanley Cup final game seven as the Bruins blanked the Canucks by a 4-0 final only this time there were no riots in the streets of the city afterward. Vancouver heads into Monday's contest with the Sabres looking to snap out of their two game slide and a stretch in which they have just two victories in their last 10 contests overall but what a perfect time to host one of the league's worst than after a back to back on the road. Vancouver hasn't been great at home this season but in a spot where Ryan Miller is facing his old team I think he shows up in a big way and the Canucks cruise to an easy victory.
