Edmonton saw Zack Kassian light the lamp with 1:34 remaining in the opening period with Connor McDavid scoring just 53 seconds in to the extra session off of a Leon Draisaitl assist to make a winner of Cam Talbot and his 31 stops.
The Vancouver Canucks have their sights set on consecutive victories after downing visiting Minnesota 5-2 on Monday. The Wild received goals from Jordan Greenway and Ryan Suter with Devan Dubnyk absorbing the loss with four goals allowed on 30 shots.
The balanced Canucks attack received two goals from Elias Pettersson while Markus Granlund, Jake Virtanen and Ben Hutton found the back of the net as well. Jacob Markstrom picked up the win for Vancouver with 37 stops.
Blackhawks are 2-8 in their last 10 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game and Blackhawks are 2-7 in their last 9 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game and Blackhawks are 7-2 in their last 9 games playing on 2 days rest. Over is 5-1 in Canucks last 6 after scoring 5 goals or more in their previous game and under is 4-1 in Canucks last 5 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game and under is 4-1 in Canucks last 5 games following a win. Over is 4-0-1 in the last 5 meetings in Vancouver and over is 6-0-1 in the last 7 meetings and Blackhawks are 0-4 in the last 4 meetings.
Typically we see the offenses shine when these teams take the ice and I don’t think that changes…
