The Blue Jackets look to play spoiler as they play their second game in as many nights this time in Vancouver to face the Canucks.
The Blue Jackets are coming off a shootout win over the Oilers on Wednesday night in what was a meaningless game in the standings for everyone involved but it did give Jackets back up goaltender Curtis McElhinney some confidence as he had a tough go while Sergei Bobrovsky as out with an injury. Columbus is well out of the playoff fold but they can ruin things for the Canucks in what is turning into a must win situation every night for them at this juncture in the season and for what it'sd worth the Jackets will take any opportunity to prove they belong with the best teams in the league and that this year was a massive underachievement. Bobrovksy is expected back in the Columbus crease as he will go up against Eddie Lack.
The Canucks are in the hunt for a playoff spot and currently sit in second place in the Pacific but they are well off of a sure thing to qualify and will be in a dogfight until the very end. Vancouver is getting healthy at the right time and the pieces returning are vital to their success and with a win over the Flyers in their last outing this game seems like a foregone conclusion that they are going to skate away victorious. While you have to be cautious of the let down spot here the Canucks are simply the better team and need wins against the also rans to make the difference between qualifying and not. Vancouver rolls.
