The way that Tyler Seguin is playing for the Dallas Stars is exactly what they hoped they'd be getting when they acquried the young forward from Boston in the offseason. Seguin seemed to need a change of scenery and a chance to play with some top offensive players consistently and that Dallas Stars have given him that. Seguin is thriving in his first year in Dallas and playing next to Jamie Benn has a lot to do with that. These two players have a ton of chemistry that you can see when they're on the ice together and it wasn't on display any more so than Friday night in Calgary against the Flames. Seguin scored four goals on the night and Benn added five assists as the Flames cruised to a 7-3 win. Dallas has a lot of players on their team that can fill roles and help contribute to wins but they'll need Seguin and Benn to be the offensive leaders night in and night out if they're going to stay relevant in the difficult Western Conference. It won't be easy but with the way these two guys are playing right now it's hard to say it's impossible. Another big test for them comes on Sunday night when they head to Vancouver to take on the Canucks. It might be a good time for the Stars to get the Canucks who have lost three straight games and scored a combined three goals. When the Canucks have taken a step up in competition this week against the Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks, and San Jose Sharks they haven't been able to elevate their game. Their power play is kiling this team and that's something that John Tortorella clubs have struggled with in recent years. If they can't get that figured out with the personnel they have on the ice they might have trouble figuring other things out this season as well. There's too much offensive talent on the ice for the Canucks to struggle scoring goals for this long. Right now the Canucks need to outwork their opponent until they stop gripping their sticks so tightly and the offense comes back to them. With the way these two teams are playing right now this is a good chance to get some value with the Stars.
