The Dallas Stars go on the road to take the ice with the Vancouver Canucks in Saturday NHL action.
The Dallas Stars have won three in a row after a 3-2 SO win at Edmonton on Thursday. Leon Draisaitl scored in the first for Edmonton and Connor McDavid tallied in the second for a 2-0 lead. McDavid and Draisaitl also assisted while Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored in the shootout. Mikko Koskinen made 22 saves in falling to 24-18-6 overall.
Alexander Radulov lit the lamp in the second for Dallas and Miro Heiskanen scored in the third with Roope Hintz posting a pair of helpers. Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn scored in the shootout and Anton Khudobin picked up the win for the Stars with 40 saves.
The Vancouver Canucks snapped a three game skid with a 3-2 SO victory against visiting Los Angeles on Thursday. Austin Wagner gave the Kings a 1-0 lead in the first with Adrian Kempe scoring in the third period. Los Angeles failed to score in the shootout and the 36 save performance of Jonathan Quick went for naught.
Alexander Edler and Brock Boeser each scored in the second period for the Canucks. Tanner Pearson netted the only goal of the shootout for Vancouver to make the 37 saves of Thatcher Demko a winner.
Stars are 7-0 in their last 7 road games and Stars are 5-1 in their last 6 games as a road favorite and Stars are 9-3 in their last 12 vs. a team with a losing record.
Canucks are 5-11 in their last 16 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game and Canucks are 3-7 in their last 10 vs. Western Conference and Canucks are 3-9 in their last 12 games as an underdog.
Stars are 14-4 in the last 18 meetings and under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings and Stars are 8-1 in the last 9 meetings in Vancouver.
The Stars are playing the better hockey right now but the juice is too high for my liking…
