The Kings look to extend their winning streak to two games and build on their Pacific division lead as they head into Vancouver to battle the Canucks.
The LA Kings head into hostile territory on Monday as they face off against the Canucks at Rogers Arena, a place where they have found a ton of success in recent years, and will aim for their 11th road victory of the season in the process. The Kings are 21-11-2 this season and hold a seven point lead on the second place Coyotes in the Pacific and while there is a ton of hockey left to be played I think it is safe to say that the Kings are the team to beat right now and everyone else in the otherwise underwhelming division will be after them. Jonathan Quick will get the start as he will go up against Jakob Markstrom.
The Canucks meanwhile are starting to heat up as they have won two in a row but a lack of consistency this season has them in limbo of missing the playoffs and if they’re going to right the ship they need to do it soon. The Canucks have played three more games than Sharks who trail by a single point for the third automatic spot in the Pacific and with the way the Central has been playing this season it is safe to say that the wild card spots won’t be coming out of the Pacific so we could see the bare minimum out of them this year. This Canucks team isn’t overly impressive and while they are at home here I think the Kings get the victory.
