The Kings and Canucks meet up in Vancouver on Thursday as these Pacific division foes jockey for playoff positioning.
The Kings head into Vancouver coming off a big time win and are right in the thick of thigns in the Pacific division playoff race and with the way these teams have played this season you can be sure it'll come down to the wire. LA are the defending Cup champs and would love the opportunity to repeat but they are far from a sure thing in terms of getting in and at the moment they are two points back of the Flames and a single point back of the Jets and they'll need to continue their recent success if they want to qualify. Jonathan Quick is expected to start for LA while Eddie Lack continues to get the nod for the Canucks.
Vancouver head into tonight's game sitting in second place in the Pacific but they too are far from a sure thing but do sit in a better position than the Kings and have been playing much better of late. Vancouver is still without Ryan Miller which some figured was going to seal Vancouver's playoff chances but Lack has stepped up and has played well and he will be called upon until Miller is healthy and even then with his track record in the postseason the Canucks could stick with Lack. I have no idea how or why the Canucks are home dogs here but for two teams that are fairly even and just as important to both sides I will take Vancouver at home at a gift of a price.
