Thursday NHL action features the Nashville Predators visiting the Vancouver Canucks.

The Nashville Predators have followed a two game skid with back to back wins following a 2-1 victory against visiting Buffalo on Monday. Sam Reinhart scored unassisted in the second period for the Sabres with Carter Hutton absorbing the loss with both goals allowed on 25 shots.

Nashville saw Ryan Ellis light the lamp on a first period power play with Kevin Fiala scoring the winner at 16:34 of the third. Pekka Rinne picked up the win  for the Predators with 21 saves to improve to 12-4-1.

The Vancouver Canucks have been fading for several weeks and have dropped four in a row after a 3-2 loss to visiting Minnesota on Tuesday. The Canucks took a 1-0 lead on a first period tally from Josh Leivo off of assists from Elias Pettersson and Brock Boeser while Anders Nilsson took the loss with three goals scoring on 28 shots.

Zach Parise, Ryan Suter and Jason Zucker provided the scoring for Minnesota. Mikael Granlund posted a pair of assists for the Wild who received 29 saves from Devan Dubnyk that upped his record to 10-8-2.

Predators are 4-0 in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400 and under is 5-1 in Predators last 6 games following a win and under is 5-1 in Predators last 6 Thursday games. Canucks are 0-4 in their last 4 vs. Central and over is 4-0-1 in Canucks last 5 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game and Canucks are 1-6 in their last 7 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game. Over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings and Predators are 5-2 in the last 7 meetings.

Vancouver won’t lose every game but hopefully their slide lasts another day against the best team in the game…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
