Friday NHL action pits the New Jersey Devils at the Vancouver Canucks.
The New Jersey Devils knocked off Edmonton 6-3 on the road Wednesday to end a season high seven game slide. Sam Gagner, Alex Chiasson and Matthew Benning lit the lamp for Edmonton. Connor McDavid logged three assists for the Oilers while Mikko Koskinen allowed four goals on 18 shots and Anthony Stolarz stopped 15-17 shots in relief.
The balanced New Jersey offense received scoring from Kenny Agostino, Travis Zajac, Damon Severson, John Severson, John Quenneville, Kevin Rooney and Blake Coleman. Andy Greene posted a pair of helpers for the Devils who saw Cory Schneider stop 36 shots.
The Vancouver Canucks are gunning for consecutive wins after shutting down the visiting NY Rangers 4-1 on Wednesday. Pavel Buchnevich broke up the shut out with a third period power play goal for New York. Mika Zibanejad and Tony DeAngelo posted assists for the Rangers and Henrik Lundqvist took the loss with three goals allowed on 27 shots.
Tyler Motte led Vancouver with a pair of second period goals with Brock Boeser netting a PP play goal in the second with Jake Virtanen adding an empty netter.
Ten different players recorded points for the Canucks and Jacob Markstrom picked up the victory with a 21 save performance.
