The Blues look for their third win in a row and sweep Western Canada as they head into Vancouver to take on a Canucks team who has also won back to back games and earned points in all four games this season.
The Blues have looked very impressive to start the season and after their latest victory last night in Edmonton they can take all three against the Western Canadian teams after beating the Flames and Oilers in succession and now head into Vancouver. The Blues have been considered a league power for the last few seasons and have made strides each and every year but haven't been able to break through come playoff time and until that happens they will remain one of the league's best regular season teams. Jake Allen will get the call between the pipes after Brian Elliott got the start last night and he will match up against Ryan Miller who continues to anchor the starting role for the Canucks.
Vancouver had an up and down season last year as they still made the playoffs but never really looked like a contender as they have an aging core and some holes at the back end and this season it is clear they are looking towards the future. The Canucks are off to a nice start and have had some impressive victories and now they return home to play in their second game at Rogers Arena but will be looking for a different outcome. The Canucks are tough to figure out as they are a decent group but to be favoured against a Blues team that is deeper across the board is a head scratcher but they could very well skate away with yet another win. I am going to err on the side of caution though and even though St. Louis is getting value it makes a lot more sense for us to bite.
