The Bolts look for their second win in as many nights as they travel from Edmonton to Vancouver to face off against the Canucks.
Tampa Bay came back from a 2-0 deficit at Rexall Place last night and stole a 3-2 victory in regulation which is a huge boost for them as they have had a tough go of things so far this season. The Bolts are the reigning Eastern Conference champions and had monumental expectations placed on them heading into the season but a handful of issues has left them well short of that bench mark and as such there are some thinking they are going to blow things up. Steven Stamkos has been linked to trade rumors over the last few months with the Leafs being at the forefront of that but until the Bolts are officially out of the race I don’t think there will be any thought of Stammer heading out of town.
The Canucks meanwhile have been up and down as well this season but thanks to a lackluster Pacific division they are still in a good spot in terms of a playoff berth but things can change drastically over night. Vancouver sits in third place and are just three back of the second seeded Coyotes but their 16-16-9 mark is a little concerning and out of character for one of the better franchises over the last 10 years and with an aging roster and question marks surrounding the future core it is an uncomfortable time to be a Vancouver fan. The Canucks haven’t been able to generate much at home this season and with Andrei Vasilevskiy looking for more playing time I think he out battles Ryan Miller here.
