NHL action pits the Vegas Golden Knights at the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday.

The Vegas Golden Knights have picked up their game of late with four consecutive wins following an 8-3 rout of Chicago. Gustav Forsling, Dylan Strome and Erik Gustafsson scored for the Blackhawks with Strome posting an assist. Corey Crawford gave up three goals on 24 shots to get the loss for Chicago with Cam Ward stopping 11-13 shots in relief.

Cody Eakin and Shea Theodore scored two goals each for Vegas with Daniel Carr, Alex Tuch, William Karlsson and Ryan Reeves also getting in the scoring column. Derek Engelland added thee assists and three others posted two helpers to lift the Golden Knights and Marc-Andre Fleury and his 21 saves to the win.

The Vancouver Canucks have been mired in a three week tailspin that has produced losses in nine of ten following a 2-1 overtime defeat to the Kings on Tuesday. Markus Grandlund scored at 16:17 of the third for the Canucks who saw Jacob Markstrom allow two goals on 25 shots.

Los Angeles received a second period tally from Alex Iafallo with Dustin Brown potting the winner just 53 seconds in to OT. Anze Kopitar logged a pair of assists and Calvin Petersen recorded 32 saves to get the win for Los Angeles.

Golden Knights are 4-0 in their last 4 overall and under is 9-1 in Golden Knights last 10 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game and over is 6-1 in Golden Knights last 7 Thursday games. Canucks are 0-7 in their last 7 games playing on 1 days rest and Canucks are 1-9 in their last 10 overall and over is 6-1 in Canucks last 7 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game. Golden Knights are 4-1 in the last 5 meetings. 

Obviously  Vegas won’t win forever and Vancouver will get a win at some point but this is a bet on the hot versus cold team…
