The Canucks look for their first home victory of the season as they welcome the Capitals to Vancouver on Thursday night.
The Washington Capitals are looking to follow up their impressive road win in Calgary on Tuesday night as they head into Vancouver on Thursday to play the Canucks. Washington is projected to finish at or near the top of the Metro division this season as they have a very impressive team and after a sluggish start they are starting to show what all the hype was about we approach the end of October. The Caps are led up front by Alex Ovechkin and newcomer TJ Oshie but they have a ton of depth as well as Evgeny Kuznetsov is pegged as the next big thing and Nick Backstrom will be back before you know throwing some gas on the fire. The Caps will go with Braden Holtby as he will go up against Ryan Miller.
The Canucks head into Thursday night sitting in a tie for top spot in the Pacific division and have a chance to land sole possession with a vixctory against he Capitals. Vancouver is a very interesting team as they have a ton of youth at the core and will be moving forward with that in mind but also have Daniel and Henrik Sedin and Alex Burrows still on the roster who have been mainstays with the team for years. For the time being I am going to treat this team as one going through a rebuild and not buy into how well they are playing but that can change at a moment's notice as they have some good pieces and are backstopped by a great goalie. However, the Caps are for real without question and getting them at a price is something we won't see very often.
