The Vancouver Canucks look to shake off a 2-0 loss at home against the Edmonton Oilers as they welcome the Washington Capitals to town on Saturday.
The Capitals head into Vancouver on Saturday looking to claim their fourth win of the season and they will need a strong effort from Alex Ovechkin and the rest of the offense who were quiet in their loss to the Oilers. Washington are considered by many to be one of the best teams in the league again this season as they have one of the deepest rosters in the game and are strong in all facets as they have a very strong attack, a serviceable blue line, and the reigning goaltender of the year which all sets up to be a strong team on paper.
The Canucks meanwhile got off to a red hot start but have since cooled off a bit and were shut out against the Oilers last night in what was a strong effort from Edmonton goalie Cam Talbot. The Canucks need to get their offense going here against the Capitals but with some question marks surrounding who is going to handle the bulk of the work behind the Sedin’s and neither of their top two point producers off to a good start it’ll be interesting to see how this team progresses and whether they will make some moves this season to get set for a fresh start.
The Capitals are 1-5 in their last six road games and 0-5 in their last five against the Pacific while the Canucks are 6-1 in their last seven road games and 1-4 in their last five against the Metro. Washington is the better team and will be fired up after a sluggish effort against Edmonton as they get a win in Vancouver on Saturday.
