The Las Vegas Golden Knights look to continue their ridiculous stretch on home ice as they welcome the Anaheim Ducks to town on Monday night.
The Ducks look to spoil the party in Sin City on Monday as they head in to T-Mobile Arena to take on the Vegas Golden Knights as these two Pacific division foes play for two pivotal points in the playoff race. Anaheim comes into tonight’s game struggling to find ways to win on Monday’s as they are 1-4 in their last five and face off against a Knights team that has decimated divisional opponents of late with a 14-2 mark in their last 16 against Pacific rivals and are a ridiculous 39-19 in their last 58 games overall. Anaheim is 4-1 in their last five against the Western Conference and are looking more like the team many expected to see at the onset of the season and a win on the road here against Vegas would be a huge statement victory.
The Knights meanwhile have been a force to be reckoned with on home ice as they are 21-5 in their last 26 games and have really silenced the skeptics in their inaugural season as they are far and away the favourite to win the Pacific as they currently hold a 12 point lead over the San Jose Sharks, the most among any division leader in the NHL. Vegas does have some very motivated and talented players and a huge part of their success has been due to the play of Marc-Andre Fleury who was a castoff by the two-time defending Cup champions and there is a possibility that he could be playing his old team in this year’s postseason which would be a very entertaining story line to follow.
The Ducks are 4-1 in their last five against good home teams and 2-8 in their last 10 after allowing two or fewer in their previous game while the Knights are 25-8 in their last 33 against the West and 19-9 in their last 28 following a win. Anaheim needs to keep winning here and while they are in tough they are worth a shot here at a great price.
