The Los Angeles Kings visit the Vegas Golden Knights in Sunday NHL action.
The Los Angeles Kings have a third straight win within their grasp after a 3-2 OT victory at San Jose on Saturday. San Jose saw a 2-0 deficit cut in half on a third period goal from Lucas Radil with Joe Pavelski sending the game to OT with his marker with 31 seconds remaining. Erik Karlsson added two assists and Martin Jones gave up three goals on 31 shots for the Sharks.
Ilya Kovalchuk gave Los Angeles a 1-0 lead on a first period power play with Alex Iafallo doubling the advantage at 5:15 of the third. Kovalchuk netted the winner in the extra session and Jonathan Bernier picked up the win for the Kings with a 29 save effort.
The Vegas Golden Knights look to get back in the win column after suffering a 4-3 OT loss to visiting Montreal on Saturday. Brandon Pirri topped the Golden Knights with a pair of goals with Jonathan Marchessault also lighting the lamp. Brayden McNabb and William Karlsson gave Vegas a pair of helpers each and Marc-Andre Fleury gave up four goals on 47 shots.
The Canadiens received a hat trick off the stick of Phillip Danault with Paul Byron potting the winner less then two minutes in to the extra session. Max Doni, Tomas Tater and Brendan Gallagher each had two assists for Montreal who saw Carey Price stop 23 shots.
