The San Jose Sharks and Vegas Golden Knights meet Saturday in NHL action at the T-Mobile Arena.
The San Jose Sharks look to keep the puck rolling after winning eight of their last 10 games. The San Jose Sharks are averaging three goals per game and are scoring on 20.5 percent of their power play opportunities. Logan Couture leads San Jose with 32 goals, Brent Burns has 52 assists and Joe Pavelski has 213 shots on goal. Defensively, the San Jose Sharks are allowing 2.7 goals per game and are killing 84.8 percent of their opponents power plays. Aaron Dell has given up 67 goals on 771 shots faced and Martin Jones has allowed 132 goals on 1,595 shots. The San Jose Sharks have allowed three or more goals in seven of their last 10 games.
The Vegas Golden Knights look for another big victory after splitting their last 10 games. The Vegas Golden Knights are averaging 3.3 goals per game and are scoring on 22.2 percent of their power play opportunities. William Karlsson leads Vegas with 40 goals, David Perron has 50 assists and Jonathan Marchessault has 257 shots on goal. The Sharks are 7-1 in their last 8 Saturday games, 9-2 in their last 11 vs. Western Conference and 8-2 in their last 10 overall. The Golden Knights are 8-2 in their last 10 Saturday games, 27-11 in their last 38 home games and 31-15 in their last 46 vs. Western Conference. The under is 4-1 in Golden Knights last 5 home games and the over is 8-2 in Sharks last 10 overall.
Usually I blindly back the Vegas Golden Knights, and it's paid off and more, even though the prices aren't nearly as good as they were earlier in the season. And Vegas should be the favorite with the way it plays at home. However, this line is a bit nuts based on the fact the Golden Knights are in a good spot in terms of the postseason and are fresh off a tough overtime game last night. The San Jose Sharks are rested and one of the hottest teams in the league that's had no problem winning on the road. We're getting plus money with the Sharks. Follow the value. Give me San Jose.
