Friday NHL action features the Vegas Golden Knights hosting the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The Tampa Bay Lightning have been red hot with wins in five of six following a tense 1-0 victory at Colorado on Wednesday. Defense was the name of the game with the Avalanche unable to get going at the offensive end of the ice with Semyon Varlamov making 23 stops in a losing effort.
The Lightning have the ability to win by outscoring the opposition or by standing tall defensively and on Wednesday the team rode their defense with a third period power play goal from Nikita Kucherov making the 22 saves of Andrei Vasilevskiy a winner.
The Vegas Golden Knights were beginning to look like the record setting team of a season ago with three straight wins before the offense stalled in a 3-2 SO loss to Vancouver on Wednesday. Max Pacioretty and Ryan Reaves scored in the second but nobody scored in the SO with Marc-Andre Fleury falling to 4-3-1 with 24 stops for Vegas.
The Vancouver Canucks received a pair of second period tallies off the stick of Bo Horvat. Markus Granlund scored the only goal in round four of the shootout to lift the Canucks and make a winner of Jacob Markstrom and his 33 saves.
Over is 4-0-1 in Lightning last 5 Friday games and under is 4-0-2 in Lightning last 6 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game and under is 8-1-2 in Lightning last 11 games following a win. Under is 5-0 in Golden Knights last 5 overall and under is 5-0 in Golden Knights last 5 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game and Golden Knights are 6-0 in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600.
Tampa Bay is one of the hottest teams around and I‘ll back them at a very good price…
