The Tampa Bay Lightning and the Vegas Golden Knights meet in NHL action from the T-Mobile Arena on Thursday night.

The Tampa Bay Lightning will look to extend their winning streak which currently sits at 11 games following a 4-3 overtime win over Colorado in their last outing. Colorado opened the scoring less than five minutes into the game and the Avs’ lead would hold going into the 2nd where Tampa Bay surged ahead 2-1 with goals from Alex Killorn and Cameron Gaunce :16 apart. Steven Stamkos pushed the lead to 3-1 before Colorado pulled a goal back with just uner two minutes to go in the 2nd period. The Avs would tie the game at three in the later stages of the 3rd period, eventually sending us to OT. Nikita Kucherov buried the game winner for the Bolts with just under two minutes to play in the extra period. Curtis McElhinney got the win to improve to 8-6-2 on the year after stopping 24 of 27 shots faced in the winning effort.

The Vegas Golden Knights will look to extend their current three-game winning streak after a 3-2 win over Washington last time out. Nick Holden opened the scoring for Vegas just under four minutes into the game before Reilly Smith doubled the lead with less than three minutes to go in the opening frame. Max Pacioretty pushed the lead to 3-0 with the lone goal of the 2nd period with just under six minutes to go in the frame. Washington made things interesting in the 3rd with a pair of goals 1:53 apart, but the Golden Knights would close the door on any comeback attempt, riding the 3-2 score to the finish line. Marc-Andre Fleury got the win to improve to 23-14-5 on the year after stopping 25 of 27 shots faced in the winning effort.

Tampa Bay is 55-25 in their last 80 road games and 88-37 in their last 125 games overall while the under is 5-2-2 in their last 9 games against a team with a winning record. Vegas is 8-2 in their last 10 games as a home underdog and 3-7 in their last 10 games against the Atlantic division while the over is 7-3 in their last 10 home games. The under is 3-0-1 in the last 4 meetings between these two teams.

The plus money with Vegas is tempting as the Golden Knights just beat the best road team in the NHL when Washington came to town, so what’s to say they can’t beat Tampa Bay. However, I got sucked in by plus money with the Avs against Tampa Bay, and I’m not going to let it pass me by again. We’re getting another really low line here with the hottest team in the league and a team that when they get on one of these heaters, are not a team that would want to be on the other side of. Give me Tampa Bay here and lay the juice with the Lightning.
