The Line: Winnipeg Jets / Vegas Golden Knights --- Over/Under:
The Winnipeg Jets and Vegas Golden Knights meet Friday for game four of the NHL Western Conference Finals at the T-Mobile Arena.
The Winnipeg Jets need a victory here to tie up this series at 2-2 before going back home for game five on Sunday. The Winnipeg Jets are averaging 3.3 goals per game and are scoring on 23.4 percent of their power play opportunities. Mark Scheifele leads Winnipeg with 14 goals, Blake Wheeler has 17 assists and Patrik Laine has 48 shots on goal. Defensively, the Winnipeg Jets are allowing 2.6 goals per game and are killing 81.8 percent of their opponents power plays. Connor Hellebuyck has given up 35 goals on 450 shots faced and Steve Mason has allowed zero goals on seven shots. The Winnipeg Jets have allowed three or more goals in five of their last nine games.
The Vegas Golden Knights can take complete control of this series with another victory and a 3-1 lead. The Vegas Golden Knights are averaging 3.3 goals per game and are scoring on 21.4 percent of their power play opportunities. Jonathan Marchessault leads Las Vegas with eight goals, Reilly Smith has 13 assists and James Neal has 51 shots on goal. Defensively, the Vegas Golden Knights are allowing 2.7 goals per game and are killing 81.4 percent of their opponents power plays. Marc-Andre Fleury has given up 24 goals on 436 shots faced. The Vegas Golden Knights have allowed three or less goals in five of their last seven games.
The Jets are 4-2 in their last 6 road games, 45-23 in their last 68 games playing on 1 days rest and 41-19 in their last 60 overall. The Golden Knights are 33-12 in their last 45 home games, 36-16 in their last 52 games playing on 1 days rest and 10-3 in their last 13 overall. The under is 3-2-1 in Golden Knights last 6 overall and the over is 7-2 in Jets last 9 road games.
The Winnipeg Jets probably should have won game three, as they were aggressive on offense pretty much from start to finish, had quality look after quality look but the puck wouldn't go in. Fleury continues to stand on his head more times than not. But you're never worried about how you win, it's all about if the ticket cashed, and honestly, we've been paid far more times than not when blindly backing the Las Vegas Golden Knights. It's not always pretty, but this team does the little things well and finds a way to win. It's a formla that's cashed a lot of tickets this season and there's no reason to step in front of them now. I'm once again backing the Golden Knights.
